"7 different views" An Exhibition of Art

Mosaic that occured when seven different artists were asked to share their current work. Each person at different points in their journey.

Celebrating the work of artists in recovery
Artists in Recovery include those individuals actively in the process of recovery from alcohol or drug dependency and friend.

Typically these artists have survived a living hell. Their art explores life experiences that, while often touching on torment, most frequently celebrate strength, resolve and hope achieved through personal and spiritual growth.

Historically, many of the most influential artists who have suffered from alcohol or drug dependency have not always had a supportive outlet within the gallery community that would provide a venue for their art. The goal of Refuge is to support individuals who are recovering from addictions in their efforts to rerun to a healthy and productive life and realize success resulting from their own human creative potential.

Juried and Non-jured Art Exhibition ("7 differnet views" is a non-jured exhibition)
Entry into the gallery exhibitions are both juried and non-jured. Juried shows are reviewed by curator and or jurors, acceptance is based on established criteria for that particular show (i.e., following guidelines, execution, visual approach, unique insight and message). While non-juried shows, such as the "12 x 12" must simply follow the submission guidelines for admission (i.e., following guidelines and space availability). Occasionally shows include or may feature artist who know or have a loved ones in recovery.
