Q: What do I need to bring to Refuge?
A: Bathing suits are required and sandals or flip-flops are recommended. We provide all guests with two towels, a locker, and lock. Robes are available for rental ($12) or for purchase ($69). Sandals, water, and water bottles are also available for purchase and use at Refuge.
Q: How do I achieve the maximum effect of the Refuge experience?
A: We recommend the repetition of the following routine: Heat Up, Cool down, Relax. Heat up by spending 10 to 15 minutes in our Finnish sauna, Eucalyptus steam bath, or one of our many hot tubs. Cool down in one of our refreshing cold plunge pools. Relax for 15 to 30 minutes and experience the release of endorphins (“Happy Hormones”). A typical visit to Refuge is 2 – 3 hours, but feel free to stay as little or as long as you would like!
Q: Are swimsuits required?
A: Yes. Swimsuits are required as all of the amenities at Refuge are co-ed. We provide private male and female locker rooms..
Q: Why does Refuge enforce the quiet enjoyment of the facility?
A: Silence is an integral part of the Refuge experience and we ask all of our guests to respect this policy of quiet enjoyment. On site staff will politely and discreetly enforce this policy for the benefit of all. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not part of the Refuge experience.
Q: Can I make a reservation at Refuge?
A: Admission to Refuge is on a "first come, first serve" basis. However, reservations can be secured by booking a massage appointment. All massage appointments include access to Refuge facilities before or after your treatment.
Q: Can I book a massage online?
A: Yes. Massages can be booked and paid for online. Click the "Book a Massage Now!" button on this website and you will be directed to our secure server. Gift certificates and robes can also be purchased online.
Q: What Are the health benefits of the Refuge experience?
A: The benefits of the Refuge experience can be great and include the elimination of toxins from the body, improved circulation, and stress reduction. If you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, are pregnant, or under the care of a physician for any condition, you will want to be cautious: check with your physician first, and go easy.
